As per the previous update, the course and practice facilities will remain closed for the weekend. The ground is still frozen, and the rain has made the surface waterlogged. Altogether this is a recipe for serious damage. Further frost tonight and Saturday night, combined with rain will not improve the situation. The next inspection will be on Monday morning, and then throughout the day. Obviously tomorrow's competition is cancelled. The commitee realises that this is frustrating for members, but the priority is to protect the course from damage, which could impact the condition long into the season. The approach to the course and the car park have recovered sufficiently to allow the clubhouse to open tomorrow between 10am and 3pm. There will be lunch specials available: Soup & Sandwich - £5 Pie, chips & peas - £6 Hot beef sandwich & roasties - £6. Depending on uptake, the clubhouse maybe open on Sunday, but there will be an update tomorrow evening.
