Texas AM Birdie Fest
The August Open Tex Am 2025 was an unforgettable day of golf, camaraderie, and fun at the picturesque Cleobury Mortimer golf club!
One hundred enthusiastic golfers teed off on the immaculately manicured course, with greens as smooth as a billiard table. The clubhouse buzzed with energy as players fueled up with a hearty breakfast and refreshing pints before hitting the links.
The day was expertly paced, with a welcome break featuring steaming cups of coffee and delicious cookies to recharge the players. And, as the final scores were tallied, the crowd gathered for a mouth-watering Mawley Burger and chips feast, perfectly rounding off the day's festivities.
The competition was fierce, but some exceptional golfers stood out from the pack.
Dave Bessant, Dean Whatcott, and Rich Fletcher showcased their impressive skills, claiming the nearest-to-the-pin prizes.
In the mixed category, Elliot, Neil, Dereck, and Jayne secured second place with an impressive 102 points, while Heather and Ian Pringle, along with Neil and June Brydon, dominated the leaderboard with a remarkable 104 points.
The non-mixed division saw some thrilling performances, with Ben, Dylan, Ben, and Dan stealing the show with a staggering 106 points, thanks to a birdie-filled finale in the late afternoon. Bob Lucas's seasoned team, featuring Yoshi, Stan, and Pete, claimed second place with 105 points, while Dave Wood's team took third on a countback from Glenns Droitwich team.
A huge congratulations to all participants, who not only showcased their golfing prowess but also contributed to the day's infectious joy and sportsmanship! And, as an added incentive, the winners can now collect their well-deserved pro shop vouchers from CMGC.
