Fellas, A Fantastic Finish to Our Year of Golf.

The annual Daily Mail Greensomes event drew to close this year with its characteristic quirky format, providing a fun and competitive end to our club calendar. The format, a stableford greensomes, seemed to put many at ease, resulting in an excellent turnout and some remarkable scores.

As always added incentive: the winners would earn the honour of representing the club in the prestigious Daily Mail Foursomes. The stakes were high and the competition fierce, but camaraderie and sportsmanship were the real winners of the day.

1st Place: Glynn Taylor & Gary Tilstone – 47 points. An outstanding performance saw Glynn and Gary claim victory by a comfortable margin. Congratulations to both on a truly impressive score!

2nd Place: Ian Lawton & John Evans – 43 points

3rd Place: Andy Hunter & Brad Williams – 42 points

Well done to all who took part and helped make this year's event such a memorable occasion. We wish Glynn and Gary the best of luck as they go on to represent our club in the Daily Mail Foursomes – do us proud, lads!

As we head into the winter season next week, our autumn Stableford will be played from the 138 Tees. Shortly afterwards, we’ll launch into our ever-popular Winter League. New members and all competitors are reminded to review the qualifying criteria for progressing to the knockout stages—full details can be found in the competition rules.

As this is an honours board competition, please note: once the final 16 table is set after eight rounds, any pair who do not have three single qualifying scores recorded within the past 12 months will be withdrawn from the knockout stages, with the next best qualifying pair stepping in to take their place. Make sure your scores are up to date to avoid disappointment!

For any newcomers, or those unfamiliar with our Winter League, it consists of eight rounds of pairs betterball Stableford competition. Your best five out of eight scores will count towards your total, with the top 16 pairs progressing to the knockout stages. If your regular partner is unable to play one week, you may compete on your own, playing off the 95% handicap. Please let me know in advance if you intend to submit a single scorecard. Alternatively, you’re welcome to play with a different partner on the day, and you can still win that week's prize while also submitting a single scorecard for yourself.

If anyone has any further questions about the format or rules, please get in touch.

One last thing, the scratch KO final was won by James Voce with a 3&2 win over Gary Pickford. Well played James, Scratch and Pairs victory this year.

James Voce £75.00
