To ensure the grass tees are protected a New Local Rule is being introduced, as set out below, making all grass tees, apart from the Red Tees on the on whole being played, No Play Zones.
Local Rule: All Grass Teeing Areas Are No-Play Zones When the Black Tee Course is in play.
When Black tees are being used, tee shots must not be played from any other part of the teeing ground. This is also applicable to Red tees, where movable Winter mats may be in use due to heavy wear on the grass teeing area.
All grass teeing areas, other than the red teeing area of the hole being played, are defined as No-Play Zones.
• If a player’s ball comes to rest on or within any grass teeing area that is not the red teeing area for the hole being played, the player must take free relief under Rule 16.1f.
• The red teeing area of the hole being played remains a normal teeing area and is not a No-Play Zone.
Penalty for Playing a Ball from a No-Play Zone: General Penalty under Rule 14.7a.
Thank you for your co-operation.
