COURSE NEWS 24th NOVEMBER
Leaf Clearing
We’ve had 28.5 mm rain this week. 25 mm fell on Wednesday, followed by some deep frosts (-3) Thursday and Friday which prevented any bunker restoration - even the greens froze. The course continues to take it well, remaining very dry 5-10 mm down. We’ve stayed with light trolleys only for a day or so to be cautious.

Greens have been solid tined to 3” and the rough cut down to winter height (35 mm rather than 50 mm). We’ve had the Ventrac blower out clearing up leaves, which have nearly all gone. It’s not been so much of a problem this year, mostly kept under control by mowing (and mulching the leaves) in the copses.

The 5th black tee has been completed. Gavin hopes to do the 6th black tee this week; that will be all for this winter.

Gavin has quite a bit to do with the irrigation system over the winter - several small leaks and some valves to be replaced. We are going to go ahead with a bore hole, hoping to have it productive by next May.

We will be short-staffed for some time - all the team have holidays to use up. Gavin has given the team until end-February to do so.
