Boxing Day Cross Country
Win for Men's Captain's Team!
Wooden Spoon
A hardy number of members and guests turned up on Boxing Day morning to play in the traditional 'Wooden Spoon' cross country competition.
Whilst the weather was cold and bright the north easterly wind mean that the wind-chill temperature was much lower than the 5 degrees!
Not only is the format cross country, but it is also a 4-club challenge with the 4-person team rotating in order each using their allocated club. So you could find yourself trying to chip out of a greenside bunker with a wooden club!
Making the best of the conditions and format, was the Men’s Captain’s team of Mat Hague, Sarah Hague, Isabella Hague and Paul Burke. They managed to navigate the cross country course in just 52 strokes. Congratulations!
