Those less inclined to brave the chill remained in the comfort of the clubhouse, enjoying a glass or two of warming mulled wine. At the appointed hour, our master of ceremonies, Colin Thomas, summoned everyone outside, where a sizeable crowd gathered on the 3rd tee to witness a nerveless display from the 2025 Captains, who duly putted out, and the 2026 Captains, who drove in.
Back in the clubhouse, General Manager Paul Deeprose and Club Captain Martin Wisdom then addressed the gathering, noting that 2026 will be a transitional year for the club.
Rob Anderson went on to introduce the Captains’ Charity for 2026, RNLI Exmouth. Fellow RNLI volunteer Gary Noble followed with a moving account of how the RNLI had previously saved his life during an incident at sea.
