The Captains marched from the Clubhouse to the first tee, accompanied by bagpipes from Pat Larkin, the Pipe Major of Notts Pipe Band, where they enjoyed a tipple before driving off.
To all their relief, all four shots went sailing over the dreaded Fraggle Rock .
After the ceremony we retreated to the warmth of the Clubhouse, to enjoy a drink, together with sausage and onion/ mushroom baguettes and chips
.
By selling pegs for guessing nearest to each drive we managed to raise over £350 thanks to the generosity of members and their guests, for the Captains joint charity, which this year is LOROS hospice.
A very big thank you from all four Captains for your support, but in particular to Vice Ladies Captain Tina Rumming, who did a sterling job selling pegs, to Andy Rumming, Patrick Bottom and Alan Davison for setting out the pegs, to Past Captain Alex Herriot for spotting and retrieving all four drives, and to our photographers Chris Frith and Rob Pretty. We are really looking forward to seeing the results.
Finally a big thank you to Paul and his team for their support in making the day run smoothly.
Lang May yer lum reek.
