CHANGES TO THE HOWDIDIDO APP
New HowDidIDo App from 12th Jan - Members advised not to purchase new App until Club's decision on possible pre-purchase of new app for all members
The HowDidIDo and ClubV1 Members Hub Apps, are to be replaced by a single new HowDidIdo App, which should be available to download using Google Play or Apple App Store, from the 12th January 2026.
The cost of the new HowDidIdo App will be £2.99 per annum or £9.99 for an ad free version. Members will be able to enjoy an initial two-week free trial before payment is necessary. The Club has been given an alternative option to pre-purchase the App for all our members at a cost of £1,400 +vat. Directors have agreed that if the club pre-purchases the App it would be necessary to pass that cost on, resulting in a charge of approximately £5 being added to each member’s annual membership fee.
Although the new app will be available from 12th January there is no need for an immediate decision as the existing free HowDidIDo apps can continue to be used until the end of February and possibly into March. It should also be noted that it will be possible to avoid downloading and paying for the App by simply using your phones web-browser to access the HowDidIDo website and adding a link onto your phone screen.
The club is presented with two options –
Option 1 – Pre-purchase the new Howdidido App and pass on the cost to each members.
Option 2 – Permit individual members to either purchase the App for themselves or use the free HowdidIDo website.
Prior to a final decision concerning whether the Club will pre-purchase the new HowdidIDo app, we are keen to receive your views. This matter will be included for discussion at the Club’s AGM on Saturday 24th January. Members are advised not to purchase the new App before being advised of the Club's final decision on the matter. .
In advance of the Club's AGM I would like to invite members to try out the free HowDidIDo website version on their phones. Details of how to do that will be provided shortly after the new App goes live on 12th January. Included with these details will be the opportunity to complete a short survey designed to collect members' views. The survey must be completed before 24th January, to ensure results are available for Members at the AGM.
