This project has taken nearly three years to finally install and included a full power upgrade for the clubhouse as we would have been overloaded once the EV points were commissioned. A sponsorship deal with BMW Sandal was key to starting the project and they provided over £13,000 towards the cost of the charge points.
Our charging fee will be 67p per kWh.
This is a big plus for the club as we are the only golf club in Kirklees to offer such a facility and one of just four golf clubs in Yorkshire. The others are Moortown, Alwoodley and Normanton.
Many of our Cottage on the Course guests ask if we have such a facility and for the increasing number of members and guests with either full EV or hybrid its a benefit if they are short of charge before their rounds.
A big thank you to Ryan, Liam Dawson and Chair of House Simon Russell for managing the project throughout plus the specialist advice and works from member Jacob Lingard of Lindgard Stead Electrical.
