Caps drive in kicks the year off in style

The season feels like it has started, with some warmer days and a bit of sunshine. Captains drive in has kicked us off. Good luck to this years Captain, Brad Eardley. I'm sure it will be a great one for you skip.
Couple of comps to report on. Having spent some time on the new competition prize payout structure. It was clear that we have surplus money left in the ‘gents’ section. So, I have increased most comps prize money. Not by much, biggest increase in majors. The competition booklet will be updated to show this and will be able to be viewed in the documents section within the HDID app.
Wychwood 3 man team.
Taking victory in the tricky format when it sees all 3 scoring on the back 6, the hardest part of the course. Winning by 1 point is Florian Gjici, Kev Thorley & James Stoneley. Nice one fellas, well played. Podium & prizes below.

Well done to all that came to support the captain on his drive in. I believe some were quite confident of it staying on the tee judging by his once known nickname of ‘topper’ ha ha. That followed by handfuls of lollipops scattered across the 1st tee box.
Cameron Jones guessed closest to the drive, in the trees on the right. Well done Cameron.
Winning with a score of 51points, is muckers Ben Massey & Jack McCallum. Jack having 3 two’s on the day, nice one pal. 2nd winning on a cpo on the back 6 is Matt Cheffins & Paul Ashley with 49pts. Taking 3rd spot is Andy Southwick & Callum Southwick. Missing out just also with 49, was our very own Captain and Vice Captain. Remember to read the format next time Mr Vice ha ha!! Summer knock outs are now open, £5 a man, but be aware if you add a partner into the pairs when you enter it is charging your account £10. Please be aware of the qualifying criteria in place for the summer knock outs. All players entering must have 3 singles acceptable (qualifying) competitions and 20 scores on your WHS in the last 12months before the first match is played. The draw is done at the end of March and normally the first match has a play by date by middle of may. Hopefully all singles comps are acceptable ones from now. Providing the course is in a good enough condition. If it is maybe 50/50 I will lean to making them acceptable in order to help newer members out. Any questions get in touch with me on 07814298615.
