Tomorrow sees the start of the official summer season.
The weather over the winter has been mild, and drier than previous years, so the course is in a much better condition than it was at this time in the past 2 years. The Greens team of Vic, Eddie and Joe have worked hard over the winter to keep things tidy and make Avro one of the best kept courses in the area.
Please take time to have a warmup in the newly refurbished practice nets, with new mats and a replacement catch net.
The practice green and bunker area will be receiving some much-needed attention, and we will be putting some short flags in the holes for the inevitable summer putting competitions!
From tomorrow the course will be set up for summer:
• Return to the normal red/yellow/white tee positions.
• The new slim pins with red flags will be on the greens.
• Towels with Avro logo will be on all the new ball washers.
• No need to use a mat.
• Preferred lies on closely mown fairways and fringes.
Please remember to help keep the course in good condition by
• Always replacing divots
• Always raking bunkers
• Always repair pitch marks
