Brown-tail moth (Euproctis chrysorrhoea).
Members are advised that brown-tail moth caterpillars have been identified in the hawthorn bushes surrounding the 11th and 15th holes.
These caterpillars possess tiny hairs that can cause skin irritation, rashes, and in some cases breathing difficulties if disturbed or touched.
Members are strongly advised to:
Exercise extreme caution when retrieving golf balls in or near hawthorn bushes
Avoid contact with any caterpillars or their nests
Where possible, refrain from entering these areas altogether
The local council has been notified and appropriate action is being considered.
