ECGC v Sherfield Oaks
4-2 win
ECGC played our first mixed match of the season at home v Sherfield Oaks on Sunday (Guy Barry's team). It was a repeat fixture from last year when we won 4 1/2 to 1 1/2. This year it was 4 to 2 to ECGC so thanks to Wingnut, Jean, Peter HC, Mick Somerville, Steve Weston, Norman, Ed, Janet, Heather, Rob and Katy for putting on the ECGC shirt.
This year we were competing for a new annual trophy (donated by Guy) and nearest the pin and longest drive competitions. Well done Heather for winning the ladies longest drive, while Sherfield claimed the other prizes. Calamity of the day goes to Steve whose umbrella ended up on the 3rd fairway having started on the 9th, while his trolley simultaneously made its way the opposite way down the 9th fairway as he couldn't decide which to go after! Thankfully the rain only lasted about 2 minutes.
