Royal Jersey Ladies v Les Ormes Ladies
Hard fought match in blustery conditions
A team of ten Silver and Bronze players from Les Ormes visited Royal Jersey on Tuesday 21st April to contest the Dorothy Van Neste Trophy.

The format was 4BBB matchplay played off handicap difference. The pairings were well matched for handicap with the exception of the fifth and last group where 13 shots were conceded.

The sky was clear blue as the ladies teed off but the easterly wind was strong and cold making it feel more like winter than spring.

After more than four hours the first pairings reached the 18th, and a win for RJ. That was swiftly followed by a win on the 17th for Les Ormes. Another win on the 18th for RJ and then a win for Les Ormes on the 16th. All square. Lady Captain and Team Captain watched nervously as the final pair played up the 18th knowing that Les Ormes had a shot in hand. It went to the wire with Les Ormes holing out and Carol Allen making the final putt to take the half and draw the match .

The match was followed by a welcome hot lunch in the clubhouse. All agreed the match had been played in the best possible spirit with plenty of convivial chatter and laughter making up for trying and tiring conditions.

Well played ladies ! The Dorothy Van Neste Trophy retained.
