CONGRATULATIONS to Glen Goldsmith for finishing in the top ten at the English Men's Senior Stroke Play Championship. The final was held on the Purdis Heath course on Friday (June 5th) after qualifying rounds at Ipswich and Woodbridge the previous two days. Glen finished on 5 over for his three rounds and was placed ninth. Both Glen and Peter Brady, pictured above, made the cut for the top 80 golfers and ties from an original field of 288. Competitors were faced with extreme weather conditions. Our greenkeeping staff did an extraordinary job in not only getting the course playable each day but in tip top condition. Thanks to the army of volunteers who helped on the course during the week and to those who answered the call to turn up at first light to assist on the days when the course had been flooded.
