Past Captains Trophy and Ladies Western match
Ladies Western lose to Bramford
Friday 12th June saw 7 past Captains and the present Captain battle it out for a Silver Plate which unfortunately was a victim in last years trophy robberies. These were later joined for an excellent 3 course dinner by a further 6 past Captains in the restaurant with a few drinks and a bit of banter shared by all and of course remembering those absent friends, be they Captains or past members. The “Trophy”, an antique bit of Perspex with a gold plastic golfer on it was presented to winner Mr David Mills who scored 19 points in the 10 holes played, an ex-captain came 2nd with 18 points. Thanks to Simon and the catering staff for a lovely meal and to Chris behind the bar for keeping us refreshed. On Saturday 13th June the Ladies Western team travelled the 60 miles to Bramford, a small 9 hole course with lots of trees and water, the home team definitely had a home advantage and cruised to 5–0 victory with the home team ladies offering advice on each hole to the Gorleston players. Thanks to Mark and Linda who came along and caddied, the Gorleston team on the day was Marie, Gail, Laura, Pauline and Linda. Stuart Pearce Chairman of Competitions
