On Saturday 22 August 2026, 88 Members and their guests took part in our annual Killermont Gentlemen’s Guest Invitational. The weather was favourable with the sun shining part of the day but most importantly, no rain experienced. The golf all ran to time and flowed well throughout the day and by all accounts our course was thoroughly enjoyed by our guests. Refreshments were provided at the 11th tee to helpful those involved over the last 8 holes!! The scoring was very good with the prize winners as follows:- First place with 45 points – Stewart Shaw & Gary Kane On count back we had 4 pairings on 44 pts Second place were – Malcolm Laverock & David Grant Third place were – Ian White & Mark Lappin Fourth place were – Graham Wilson & Jonathan McPherson Fifth place were – James Durward & Kevin Maley On course prizes were won as follows:- Nearest the pin at 4th hole – David Holt Nearest the pin at 16th hole – Colin Peddie Nearest pin in two at 8th hole – Ian Gillan Nearest pin in two at 13th hole – Andrew Brass & Gregor Campbell (both holing out in two) Well done to all our prize winners. As far as the Captain’s Charity, Home Start Glasgow North and North Lanarkshire is concerned we held a nearest the pin in two at the 17th hole. Entry was optional but all taking part entered, raising £1760. Thank you for your generosity. The winner was Greg Scrimegour. Off the course we were all “fed and watered” and very well looked after by Kevin and his team, both front and back of house, with many people still in the Kelvin Suite after 23.00hrs. A huge thank you is expressed to all GGC staff, also the many helpers who assisted greatly to keep play flowing on time on the day and all of our Members and their Guests involved in the day. Well done to everyone. In conclusion a great day was enjoyed by all.
