The Club Championship is open to the top 16 available qualifiers. Qualification is through the best three gross scores from medal rounds played from 1st April to 31st March of the current year. The three qualifying scores must include: - One score from the Hawkstone Course - One score from the Championship Course - Any one other gross score In the event of players having the same total qualifying score, the tie is resolved by comparing the individual’s last qualifying score. The Club Championship is an 18-hole singles Scratch Matchplay knockout competition. Tom Welch Retains the Crown! Hawkstone Park Golf Club’s Men’s Club Championship produced a thrilling final on Saturday 22nd August, as reigning champion Tom Welch faced previous champion Sam Breakes in a closely fought 36-hole battle. With the prestigious title at stake, both players produced an excellent display of competitive and sporting golf. The match remained incredibly close throughout, with neither player able to establish a decisive advantage. As the players stood all square on the 36th tee, the championship was finely balanced. Tom held his nerve when it mattered most, sinking a crucial putt to secure victory and retain the Men’s Club Championship for the second consecutive year. It was a fantastic finish to a memorable championship, with Tom once again showing great composure under pressure. A massive congratulations to both Tom and Sam on reaching the final and providing members, family and friends with such an exciting, competitive and sporting match. There was fantastic support for both players around the course, with members, family and friends turning out to watch and encourage them throughout the final.
