On tour with Andy
Staysure English Legends – Chart Hills
It’s been a slightly different week for me. After feeling a bit up and down health-wise, my thoughts have understandably been elsewhere at times, but I finally managed to catch up with Andy on Tour today. I dropped Ella a text and asked if she could send me a few photographs from Chart Hills. As always, she kindly obliged and sent me some great action shots of Andy out on the course. I also said well done to Andy for yesterday and today. Ella came back to say that Andy was pleased with how he played today and is looking forward to tomorrow. And he has every reason to be pleased. Andy opened the Staysure English Legends with a very solid 71 (-1) and followed that today with an even better 70 (-2). That leaves him at three under par for the tournament and sitting 5th going into tomorrow’s final round. Today’s card was particularly steady — 35 out and 35 back, with birdies at the 1st, 6th and 16th. Just one bogey all day and fourteen pars. That’s good, patient tournament golf. After following Andy’s travels over the season, it’s great to see him heading into another final round right up there on the leaderboard. So tomorrow should be interesting. Three under, 5th place and everything still to play for. And judging by Ella’s message, Andy is pleased with his game and looking forward to getting back out there tomorrow. Good luck, Andy, for tomorrow. Play well and enjoy the final round. Steve Beckham
