Adverse Course Conditions and use of Fairway Mats
Update on Winter Conditions
Hi Everyone, As we are now entering what is generally considered to be the "Winter Season" clubs are allowed to deiced whether we switch to the use of "Adverse Course Conditions: Protocols, previously known as Winter Rules. As you are aware, we have actually been using these rules for a few weeks now, due to the condition of the course, mainly because of the fairway cutting equipment not being available. But just because we are past the 1st October, it does not mean that these protocolswill remain in place forthe whole of the "Winter Season" it will depend on the condition of the course. So please make yourself aware of what the current rules are. In addition to these rules, a slight change has been made on the use of fairway mats in the Winter. Unless the club has made the use of fairway mats mandatory for everyone, they can NOT be used in a qualifying competition, OR for a handicap counting General PLay round. At this stage there are no plans at Wychwood Park to make the use of fairway mats to be made mandatory. So please bear this in mind when entering qualifying competitions and/or submitting General Play cards for Handicap.
