On a warm October morning 55 Seniors Section golfers took part in the keenly anticipated 2026 Claret Jug competition. The 8.30 shotgun start wasn’t to everybody’s liking but there was some great golf played and good scores recorded. Our thanks go to Mike Bunney and the Greens Team for setting up the course so well. The winner with 40 pts was Kevin Ramskir, closely followed in 2nd place on 39 pts Steve Carvell, with Bob Sharman in 3rd place with 38 pts on countback and Richard Barker in 4th also with 38 pts. After a sandwich and chips lunch courtesy of Paul Price and the catering team, the coveted Claret Jug was presented by Seniors Captain Tim Porte. Congratulations to all winners and our thanks go to the Seniors Committee for organising another successful event. If you are a Longcliffe Golfer aged 55 years & over on 1st January, why not join the Seniors Section and have the opportunity to play some of the most prestigious courses in the East Midlands and take part in our dedicated Seniors events? Membership joining forms for 2027 will be available at the end of the year in the locker room.
