100 Hole Challenge
What a fantastic effort from Ryan and Kane, who completed the incredible 100 Hole Challenge in hot conditions, with the brilliant support of their many caddies throughout the day!
The boys began their challenge at 5am, welcomed by the Club Chairman, who had risen early to cook up some bacon baps before they got underway. They certainly started at a fast pace, averaging around an hour per 9 holes, and had to contact caddies to arrive earlier than planned to keep the momentum going.
The pace continued throughout the morning and afternoon, with the pair maintaining an impressive time per 9 holes. There were a couple of well-earned pit stops along the way to change shoes, refill water bottles and, of course, enjoy the occasional beer!
The final 36 holes proved gruelling, with fatigue really starting to kick in. However, spirits remained high thanks to the fantastic support from the volunteer caddies, who kept the boys going right to the end.
The challenge finally came to a close at around 6:30pm, where Ryan and Kane were greeted by a fantastic turnout of members who had come along to celebrate their achievement.
So far, the boys have raised an amazing £800 for East Anglia Children’s Hospice, but there are still sponsors on the forms who were waiting to donate once the challenge was completed. If you were one of these sponsors and have not yet paid, please get in touch via linksclubcaptain@gmail.com, and we will organise collection.
Ryan said afterwards "Kane and I would like to thank everyone who supported us through donations, volunteering their time to caddy and the many who came to show the boys support at the end. This charity deserved our very best and we are proud to have completed it for this amazing cause!"
A huge well done to Ryan and Kane. Completing 100 holes in a single day is an exceptional achievement, and their incredible effort will make a real difference to East Anglia Children’s Hospice. What a fantastic day and an even better cause! ???
